Restorative Justice in Schools

Transforming Conflict into Connection

Traditional disciplinary approaches often push struggling students further from school through suspensions, which robs them of critical instructional time and sets them further behind. Restorative Justice offers a different path—one that addresses harmful behavior while keeping students engaged, learning, and connected to their school community.

Our Restorative Justice in Schools program works with students who have been involved in behavioral incidents or conflicts, helping them take accountability, repair harm, and develop stronger conflict resolution skills.

What We Do

  • Facilitate restorative conferences that bring together affected parties to address harm and find solutions

  • Provide re-entry support to reengage students post-suspension

  • Work individually with students to understand the root causes of behavioral challenges

  • Teach conflict resolution, emotional regulation, and communication skills

  • Create personalized behavior improvement plans with clear goals and support

  • Provide ongoing mentoring and accountability to sustain positive change

  • Lead restorative circles and group sessions that build positive school culture

The Impact

85% of students in our Restorative Justice program avoid being suspended for similar offenses within the same school year—staying in school, staying engaged, and staying on track. Even more importantly, our students learn critical social-emotional, leadership, and life skills that empower them to be community advocates and peacemakers.
